Trauma can change how you sleep, how you trust, how you react, and how safe you feel in your own body. For LaPlace adults, this is steady, relational counseling that honors your story and your pace.
We move toward deeper processing only when you feel resourced enough, never before you're ready.
A small team by design. You'll never be passed around or treated like a number.
Non-punitive, always. We don't use shame as a tool, and we're direct with care.
Louisiana Medicaid, Medicare, and most major commercial plans accepted.
A real person, not a call center, will respond to your inquiry.
When you first reach out from LaPlace, your trauma counselor will focus on understanding what you hope to gain and what has worked, or hasn't worked, before. There's no rush to tell your story. Your nervous system sets the pace, not a timeline or form. Safety comes first.
A real member of our team, often one of our founders, responds personally to understand what's going on.
Building grounding, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance so daily life becomes more manageable.
Gently addressing traumatic material, only with consent, in a way that reduces intensity and restores choice.
Strengthening identity, relationships, and values-based living so your life isn't organized around what happened.
Integrative Recovery Therapies serves the LaPlace community and surrounding areas, including Boutte, Hahnville, Destrehan, and Edgard. We understand that getting to an appointment isn't always easy, so we offer trauma counseling online through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth, or you can meet us in person at our Metairie office, whichever works best for your schedule.
Yes. We work with Louisiana Medicaid, Medicare, and most major commercial insurance plans. Our team will verify your specific benefits before your first session, and we're transparent about costs from the start.
No. Trauma counseling can start with stabilization, coping skills, and understanding your current symptoms. We move toward deeper processing with your consent and at a pace that supports safety.
We currently are unable to offer support for schizophrenia and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. For most other concerns, including PTSD, complex trauma, and co-occurring substance use, we treat them alongside anything else going on.
