Real Connection. Practical Skills. A Path Forward.

Living in Metairie means juggling a lot. Whether you're managing the stress of the commute along Veterans Boulevard, balancing work demands, or carrying the weight of family expectations, there's a real heaviness that settles in when you're doing it alone. It's hard to reach out, harder still to admit you need help. That silence only gets heavier.

Integrative Recovery Therapies was founded right here in New Orleans by people who've been there themselves. Our group therapy isn't a clinical checkbox or a corporate assembly line. You sit with others who actually get it, who speak from their own experience, and something real happens. Connection that sticks, not just polite listening.

Care That Doesn't Disappear When the Work Gets Hard

Finding quality group therapy in the Greater New Orleans area often means long drives or waiting months for an opening. Metairie residents deserve access closer to home and on their own schedule. We offer evening groups right here, telehealth options if you need flexibility, and we accept Medicaid so cost isn't a barrier. Our small, intimate groups create real connection without judgment—exactly what this community needs.

Intentionally Small Groups

Our IOP groups stabilize at around 8 participants. That's not an accident. Smaller groups create real accountability, genuine peer connection, and enough space for every voice to matter.

Evening Hours That Work for Your Life

Groups run Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6–9 PM. You keep your job, your family commitments, and your daily life while doing real recovery work.

Lived Experience in the Room

Our co-founders include people who have walked their own recovery journeys. That shows up in how we listen, what we understand without explaining, and how we hold accountability without shame.

Medicaid, Medicare & Insurance Accepted

Quality care shouldn't require a private-pay budget. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and select commercial plans, because access is part of equity.

Mental Health and Addiction, Together

We don't separate substance use from the anxiety, trauma, or depression underneath it. Whole-person care treats the full picture, not just the most visible symptom.

Telehealth Across Louisiana

Can't make it in person? Telehealth sessions are available for residents throughout Louisiana via HIPAA-compliant video. Same care, wherever you are.

"You don't have to have everything figured out to start."

A free 15-minute consultation. No pressure, no commitment. Just an honest conversation about whether we're a good fit.

What to Expect When You Reach Out

Getting started doesn't require you to have it all together. Here's what happens next.

Start the Conversation

Fill out our short intake form or call us directly. A real person, often one of our founders, will respond personally, usually within one business day.

Free Consultation Call

We'll talk honestly about what you're navigating, what you're looking for, and whether IRT is the right fit. No pressure. If we're not the right fit, we'll help you find who is.

First Session

The first meeting is about listening and relationship-building, not paperwork or protocols. You don't have to disclose everything. You just have to show up.

Collaborative Care Plan

Together we define goals, talk through group vs. individual options, and build a plan that fits your life, not a one-size-fits-all treatment template.

Questions About Group Therapy in Metairie

Yes, we work with clients throughout the Metairie area and nearby communities like Kenner, Jefferson, Harahan, River Ridge, and Waggaman. Thanks to telehealth, geography doesn't limit most of our services. If you're interested in attending in-person group sessions, those are based in New Orleans and easy to reach from the surrounding areas.

Our IOP groups meet Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 PM and typically include around 8 participants. Sessions blend psychoeducation, skills training (DBT, CBT, mindfulness-based approaches), and open peer dialogue in a structured but non-punitive environment. The goal isn't confession or compliance; it's genuine connection, practical skill-building, and honest accountability. Groups are intentionally small so that each person's voice gets space.

Yes. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and select commercial insurance plans. This is a deliberate choice. Access to quality mental health and addiction care should not be limited to people who can afford private-pay rates. If you have questions about your specific coverage, please contact us and we'll work through it with you directly, without judgment and without sales pressure.

Many of the people who come to us have been dismissed, rushed, or made to feel like a number in a system that wasn't built for them. We hear that often, and we take it seriously. IRT was built specifically to be different: small, relationship-centered, trauma-informed, and honest about what we can and can't offer. If something doesn't feel right, you can say so. We will not abandon you, and we will not shame you for having doubts.

Recovery Is Possible. You Don't Have to Do This Alone.

We know reaching out is hard, especially if you've been disappointed before. Your first step with us is just a free 15-minute conversation—no commitment, no pressure, just a chance to talk with someone who listens. You don't have to have it all figured out. We've seen people find their way forward from here, and you could too.

No commitment required. Medicaid and Medicare accepted. Telehealth available statewide.
