Compassionate, whole-person counseling for individuals and families in Alexandria and the surrounding area. We treat addiction, trauma, and mental health together, not in separate silos.
If you're struggling with addiction, anxiety, depression, or trauma in Alexandria, you know how heavy it all becomes. The weight of it settles into your days, your relationships, your sense of yourself. And if you're from here, you understand something about resilience too—Alexandria has weathered so much, from the Red River floods to economic shifts that have tested this community's strength. That same resilience lives in you, even when things feel impossible.
Integrative Recovery Therapies is here to help you find your way forward. We offer telehealth counseling for Alexandria residents, treating mental health and substance use as parts of a whole person—not separate problems to tackle alone. We meet you without shame, without judgment, with the steady belief that real change is possible when you have the right support.
Alexandria's economy has long depended on the petrochemical industry, which brings both stability and stress to our community. Jobs in these fields can be physically demanding and mentally taxing, and economic shifts hit families hard. Mental health and addiction support matter here because our neighbors need more than emergency treatment - they need counseling, peer support, and care that acknowledges the real pressures of working and living in an industrial town. Compassionate, whole-person treatment helps people rebuild when life gets difficult.
No labels, no lecturing. Every client is treated with dignity, like a member of our own family.
Mental health and addiction are treated together, not in separate silos. Because they are rarely separate.
We believe in honesty. We will challenge you respectfully, and we will stay with you when the work is hard.

Yes. Integrative Recovery Therapies accepts both Medicaid and Medicare, as well as select commercial insurance plans and private pay options. We believe quality mental health and addiction care should be accessible regardless of income or insurance status. Our IOP runs Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 PM, specifically so you can maintain your work and family commitments. Groups typically include around eight participants and focus on psychoeducation, skills training, peer support, and relapse prevention. IOP is a strong fit for people who need more structure than weekly therapy provides but do not require residential care. If you are unsure whether IOP is the right level of care, we will assess that together honestly during your intake conversation.
That is one of the most honest and important questions someone can ask. Many people have been through systems that treated them as a diagnosis rather than a whole person, or that separated their mental health from their addiction, or that relied on shame and compliance rather than genuine connection. At IRT, we build trust before technique. Sessions are never rushed or checklist-driven. We treat addiction and mental health together, address the underlying emotional and relational experiences, and stay with you even when the process is not linear. If we are not the right fit after all, we will say so honestly and help you find someone who is.
If you've been carrying this alone in Alexandria, know that reaching out is a sign of strength, and you'll find honesty and acceptance waiting for you here.
